NFL Being Sued For $50 Million

There are two very popular trends in the United States and they are football and lawsuits.  Well one man decided to combine both.

John E. Williams III is a long time 49ers fan.  In January he wanted to buy a ticket to go see the NFC Championship game between the 49ers and the Seahawks .  He was not able to get his ticket since tickets were only sold to credit card holders with billing addresses in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii and Canada.  Fans in the rest of the states were not able to get tickets.  This was the Seahawks way of making sure that they get the crowd they want. At that time 49ers coach Jim Harbough said that he respects the Seahawks and was ok with it.

Williams who lives in Nevada didn't take this sitting down.  He filed a $50 million lawsuit against the lawsuit seeking $10 million in punitive damages and $40 million in real damages. His argument is that since these stadiums are publicly funded you can't discriminate "economically".

The NFL has yet to comment on the lawsuit.
