Kalvarez Bessent a four star football recruit was in the news on National Signing Day when he signed up with Auburn University last week. This week he is in the news again for being arrested on drug charges. He was in a vehicle that was going 58 in a 45 mph zone that was stopped by police in Nassau County, Florida. A strong smell of burnt marijuana came out of the car prompting a search by police. The search revealed four bags of marijuana with a total of 202.5 grams. Since no one owned up to it all four in the car were arrested and are facing felony related drug charges. After posting $5,506 bond Bessent was released. His arraignment is scheduled for February 27.
Bessent claims he is innocent and tweeted that even if noone else believes him "God knows the truth".
