It looks like the NFL attracts lawsuits. First it was former players suing them for hiding dangers of concussions. Now that this was settled there is a new class action suit on the horizon.
A NFL fan Joshuah Finkelman is suing the NFL for inflating the price of seats to the super bowl game. He claims that only 1% of the tickets were released to the public of Met Life Stadium where the super bowl will be held. Finkelman tried getting tickets for the game on NFL.com and was rerouted to a different site selling tickets that charged $4,000 a piece. After searching a while he was able to get two tickets for $2,000 each. According to the lawsuit 25% of the tickets are saved for sponsors, media etc.
The NFL told the Associated Press that 75% of the tickets are distributed to the teams who sell them to their fans at face value.
