Former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla was arrested on drug related charges. Investigators in an unrelated drug investigation spotted him smoking a "white powdery substance". He admitted to police that he uses and possesses cocaine. He agreed to meet with them at his apartment however when he got there he ran into a different apartment and only later did he succumb to police
Lyerla left the Ducks on October 6. He said then that it is for :personal reasons". However he was suspended at that time for violating an unspecified team rule and has been in trouble before including once when he argued publicly with head coach Mark Helfrich.
He has plans on joining the NFL. An anonymous person in the NFL mentioned that he might still be able to make it but definitely needs to get his act together.
