Freeney Signs Contract With Chargers
Dwight Freeney signed a two-year contract with San Diego Chargers on Saturday. The Chargers were desperate for a linebacker after Melvin Ingram tore his anterior cruciate ligament five days ago. Freeney spoke with Charger officials from Wednesday thru Friday until they reached an agreement. There were reports of four of five other teams that were interested in him and Freeney was prepared to wait unless he reached a satisfactory agreement. After signing the contract on Friday he tweeted “Very excited to be a part of the San Diego Chargers organization. I’m ready to help bring a championship to SD.”
