The 32 NFL owners will get together 10:30 am on Tuesday to decide where the 50th Super Bowl will be held in 2016. The choices are either in South Florida or in San Francisco.
The 49ers are building a new stadium in San Francisco that is scheduled to be opened for the 2014 season. Chances are that they will win the bid since the NFL has a history of choosing new venues for the Super Bowl.
The Dolphins stadium in South Florida is in dire need of repairs. According to Dolphins owner Stephen Ross repairs would cost and estimated $350 million and they are counting on help to cover the costs. The state legislature has denied public money to help out with the funds which seriously jeopardized their chances of winning the bid.
A three quarter majority is required in order to win the bid. If no one gets it then whoever gets majority votes in the second round wins. The loser will be competing with Houston for the 2017 bid.
