Fans Prefer Washington Redskins

An AP poll that was taken revealed that fans prefer that Washington Redskins should stay with their name and not switch it to Redtails.  According to the poll 79% of those questioned wanted Redskins. This is  drop of 10% from a poll taken in 1992 where 89% of those questioned wanted the name to stay.  11% wanted the name to be changed to Redtails, 8% were not sure and 2% didn't answer.  Councilman David Grosso has proposed a nonbinding resolution to change the name to Redtails saying that this may be offensive to some Native Americans.

NOTRE DAME REVEALS PLANS TO EXTEND FOOTBALL STADIUM

Notre Dame wants to extend their current football stadium.  Their plan is to add 3000 more premium seats in new building around the stadium.  The building will also house community center, classrooms, media center, and a student center.  Though the stadium is used less than 10 times a year for football games and other events the plan is to turn it into a place that the community gets together and where students have their social, academic, and athletic events.
