Jim Browns Finds His Stolen NFL Championship Ring

Jim Browns a former NFL player was excited to receive a call from St. Paul Pioneer Press.  They had some good news and some bad news.  The good news was that they have found the ring that he received in 1964 when his team Cleveland Browns won the NFL Championship over the Baltimore Colts.  The ring was stolen shortly after  from him and he still hasn't gotten it back.  However there was a catch, it was being sold online by someone on Lelands.com.

There are already four bids for the ring and the current bid is at $33,275.00 .  The auction will run until July 25.  Browns said he will try to see if he can get the ring back.  So far Lelands.com has not said anything about the auction.

UPDATE July 8:

They couldn't stay quiet.  Lelands.com chairman Josh Evans said today that his company received that ring legally.  Not only that, he is surprised at all that commotion since the ring was sold at a show in 1998 for $33,000.  At that time the ring was advertised and Browns was there signing autographs.  He even saw the ring and confirmed that it was his, according to Evans, yet he didn't mention anything about it being stolen.  Evans claims that they received it then from a family member. The person that bought it off then is selling the ring now.

Browns is still sticking to his original story that the ring was stolen.  He says that if Evans received the ring from a family member then it was stolen by a family member but the bottom line is that the ring was stolen.  He has every attention of getting the ring back.  Only time will tell how this will end.
