NFL Being Sued Again

Things are going from bad to worse for the NFL.  The past year the NFL has been involved in a class action lawsuit filed by former players saying that they hid the dangers of concussions from them even though they knew of the health risks involved.  A settlement of $765 million is still pending in court.

If this lawsuit wasn't enough the NFL has just received another slap in the wrist.  Another lawsuit was filed today by former players accusing the league of putting profits before health.  They are being accused of dispensing drugs and painkillers without prescriptions and doing anything to get players back on the field.  Some of them were not even told that they were suffering from broken bones and injuries instead they were given painkillers which eventually led them to become addicted to it.

Eight players are plaintiffs in the lawsuit and and an additional 500 players signed on.  Lawyers are looking to turn it into a class action lawsuit.  Some of the players included in the lawsuit are Richard Dent, Keith Van Horne and Jim MacMahon.

Brian Mcarthy, spokesman for the NFL refused to comment on the lawsuit saying that "our lawyers have not had an opportunity to review it"
