Pennsylvania's supreme court denies appeal of Jerry Sandusky

The Pennsylvanias's supreme court has said today that it will not review Jerry Sandusky's appeal.  Sandusky has asked the court to review his case since he believes his rights have been violated. If he brings new evidence or is able to successfully claim that his lawyers didn't do such a good job he can still appeal the decision under the state's Post Conviction Relief Act.

In his appeal Sandusky claimed that his lawyers didn't properly prepare a defense since they were quick to rush to trial.  He also claimed that the jury should have been told to take the amount of time it took victims to come forward into consideration.  The appeals court didn't agree with him and in a one sentence statement they denied his appeal.

Kathleen Kane, attorney general for Pennsylvania said that she is committed to protecting innocent children  and is pleased with the court's decision.

Sandusky is serving a 30-60 year jail sentence.
