Everything is ready. Plans are to honor Roger Staubach Heisman Trophy winning quarterback of a half a century ago, with coach Wayne Hardin and some members of the 1963 team that went to the Cotton Bowl. It is a sold out event however it is unclear when and if it will take place.
The Navy's football game against the Air Force is scheduled to take place on Saturday at Annapolis. However due to the government shutdown it is unclear if plans will be changed or stay the same. Navy Athletic Director Chet Gladchuk said that currently " At this stage we are basically taking a half a day at a time" . A final decision will be made on Thursday afternoon. If the game is cancelled it might be rescheduled for December 7. The status of the Army's football game that is supposed to take place on Saturday is also unclear. In the meantime everyone is holding their breaths and hoping that the government will come to a resolution so that all possible problems can be avoided.
