Construction On Stadium Resumes After Tragic Death

The building of the new stadium for the 49ers came to a halt following the second fatal accident during construction.  A 60 year old man, Erving Lake II, was crushed by a bundle of rebar that he was delivering to the construction site.  He was rushed to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

In June,  Donald White, 63 year old was killed while working on an elevator when the counterweight fell on to him and crushed him.

Despite the investigations of these two deaths officials have said that working conditions are safe.  Construction is scheduled to resume today.  There will be support for workers to help deal with the situation.

The 49ers have released a statement saying "their thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and co-workers affected by this tragedy."
