Three Radio Hosts Fired After Mocking Steve Gleason

Three Atlanta radio hosts were fired when they mocked former Saints safety Steve Gleason who is battling  Lou Gehrig's disease.  Gleason is in a wheelchair and is having difficulty speaking and is using a computerized speech device.   The three hosts were from the sports radio show  "Mayhem in the AM" .  Two of the hosts Steak Shapiro and Chris Dimino  took a call from co-host Nick Cellini who was Gleason.  In a robotic voice which was supposed to mimmick his computerized speech device they made knock knock jokes and ended the interview which ended with "Gleason" saying "I am going to hell".

Outrageous listeners called and left messages and on social media people were demanding that the three hosts be terminated.   WQXI-AM  immediately suspended them  however it didn't take long and they were terminated when the public outcry  grew.  The company left a statement on their website saying that they do not endorse this kind of content and apologize to Mr. Gleason and his family and all people that suffer from ALS.
