Greek Football Player Criticized for Nazi Salute
To celebrate his winning goal at the Super League victory football player Giorgos Katidis allegedly made the Nazi Salute. This made Twitter and Facebook explode with comments criticizing his move. He was criticized from fans and political parties alike. He claims he was only pointing to his teammate Michalis Pavlis who was in the stands and wanted to dedicate the goal to him. This statement was backed by AEK German coach Ewald Lienen He said that he did not want to offend anyone and later tweeted to his followers ”I am not a fascist and would not have done it if I had known what it meant". The AEK will decide in a meeting next week on his future.
