Dallas Cowboys Is Addressing DWI Problem

Dallas Cowboys had  taken action after the two high profile cases that have recently been publicized.  On December 8, 2012 football player Josh Brent was driving home from a Dallas club with teammate Jerry Brown Jr. when he hit an outside curb and his Mercedes flipped over.  Brown died later in the hospital.   Brent is awaiting trial for intoxication manslaughter.

On January 22, 2013  Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff  was driving his F-150 pickup truck when he lost control of it and went into a guard rail.  He refused to take a Breathalyzer test on scene but was arrested when the officers on scene noticed signs that indicated that he had been drinking.  They took out a warrant to be able to take a blood test to check his alcohol level while in custody.  A few days later the results came back with a BAC of .16 twice the legal amount.

Stephen Jones Executive Vice President of Dallas Cowboys told the media today that they are addressing the problem of drinking while driving. They have met with MADD to see what can be done to prevent it.
